HOW TO CLEAN YOUR SHOWER CURTAIN
(to keep it looking good and out of landfills)
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Method All Purpose Surface Spray. This is not an ad. We have tried so many other brands and homemade concoctions and this is truly the best.
- A soft, natural-bristle brush. Preferably something used like an old body brush so the bristles are “broken in” and won’t scratch the EVA.
STEP 1
Take your curtain down from the rod.
STEP 2
Lay it flat and spray the entire curtain with the surface spray. If you don’t have the space to do this that’s OK, just drape your curtain over the side of your tub or inside your shower.
STEP 3
Scrub the entire curtain with your brush. Think of it like “exfoliating” dead skin cells from your body, which is kind of what you’re doing but with soap build-up. Apply a generous amount of pressure, enough to create a lather, but don’t scrub too hard or you will scratch the EVA.
Step 4
Rinse with a hose or your shower head and hang to dry.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
You will notice far fewer soap and water marks after cleaning your curtain and you’ll be stoked. Your curtain will never be “brand new” once it’s been used. Facts. Cleaning it is awesome and saves you money and the planet. Clean your curtain as often as you can to keep it looking good and out of landfills.

A Little Something About Hard Water
Basically, hard water sucks for shower curtains. The high level of calcium and/or magnesium in your water leads to clingy water and soap build-up that is almost impossible to remove. If you have hardwater, try and clean your curtain more often to stay ahead of the build-up.
