Sarah Boyts Yoder is a painter based in Charlottesville, VA. She received an MFA in painting from James Madison University in 2006. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions throughout the US including the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Boyts Yoder is represented by Page Bond Gallery in Richmond, VA and by Show & Tell Art & Design in Charleston, SC.
Since quarantine, Sarah felt inspired to create “visual, wavy forms” at the edges of her paintings that she interprets as a surrogate for a physical connection.
“The last painting I made before the lockdown had these wavy forms along the sides but just at the edges. I had texted a friend at the beginning of the quarantine that I was sending her glowing and loving healthy vibes in lieu of being able to actually hug her. I realized the connection between those words and the visual wavy forms in that last painting and thought "Well, maybe I'll make paintings JUST of those frequencies."
