Samantha Hahn is a New York-based illustrator, art director, author and founder of an all-rainbow art shop called Maison Rainbow. She is currently working on illustrative columns with The New York Times & New York Magazine’s The Cut.
“[They] are the purest manifestation of color in nature. Rainbows deliver prescription-strength chromatic medicine for the soul. In a time of grey skies, we need to fill our eyes with rainbows more than ever,” says Samantha.
Samantha's curtain is double-sided too!
"I wanted to do a rainbow on both sides of the curtain so you can enjoy [one side] through your vanity mirror while brushing your teeth, and the other side from inside your shower while waiting for your conditioner to sink into your pandemic frizz," says Sam.
This particular curtain was made using a mix of textile paints and house paint. Both mediums are fabric-permanent but a liner is required to maintain the quality, color and stave off mold.
During the time of creation, Samantha was sheltering in place with her husband, 5 year-old daughter and 10 year-old son.
